Comedy Central is set to premiere the upcoming Daria animated spinoff, Jodie.

According to reports, black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross will voice the titular character and serve as the executive producer. The upcoming series will focus on Jodie Landon, Daria’s high school friend, when she graduates college and enters the real world. Jodie will cater to the new generation as she faces first-time employment and the troubles of social media, featuring “themes of empowerment along with gender and racial lines, explorations of privilege, and a wicked sense of humor,” highlighting “the personal and professional issues young Black women face today.”

Jodie was originally announced in 2019 and will be paired with the network’s flagship series South Park, as part of Comedy Central’s focus on adult animated content and original animated series.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Michael Keaton is in talks to appear as Batman in Ezra Miller’s Flash movie.
